This place is really big! I really enjoy being there you must be sure to bring a canoe to explore area. The sad part is the lake is dying it is filling in on the sides, the river canal from what I understand runs thru in the middle of the lake which would be good for fishing! I endured two storms one with winds up to eighty miles. I ran for the outhouse. LOL. It really started to get a little *spooky* seems to be some buzzards! What else would a person expect on a dying lake and the coyotes. What a thrill. LOL P.S. really you must bring plenty of tick spray!

Would be nice to have some amenities like a restaurant or convenience store close by. There is a Bait and Tackle in Toronto (corner of 54 and 105), but their selection is lacking, and their customer service skills are even more lacking. But, it is small town Kansas, and I'm not going to hold the town's lack of amenities against the state park.

We will be back for sure. With the kayaks, Mt bikes and fishing gear, and stay a few more days.

What an amazing lake it looks and feels like you've went to another states lake with its giant boulders and rocky shores. There's alot worth exploring here with all its coves and foot paths.

It's ok. Fishing is ok and camp-wise isn't anything special. It's a pretty long journey to get gas or groceries or even ice.

I visited the lake to shoot some photos at night and found it accessible and easy to navigate around.

An absolutely beautiful area. The cabin was perfect in every way, except the beds could be a little more comfortable. The views from Eagles Nest cabin are awesome. Hard to believe that you're in Kansas.
